I’m a writer and artist from England, based on the Caribbean island of Dominica since 2005.
For nearly two decades, I’ve written widely as a freelance travel journalist, authored four editions of two Bradt guidebooks, and published independent travel and culture magazines.
In 2024, I ended my involvement the travel industry and decided to write a book and develop my knowledge and technique as a visual artist.
I hold a BA in German Language and Literature from the University of Leeds and studied in former East Germany at Karl Marx University, Leipzig. I’ve lived and worked in England, Germany, Japan and Dominica.
I live near Giraudel, on the western slopes of Morne Anglais, with my wife Celia, who was born in Dominica. A keen gardener, I grow and process my own coffee and continue to travel whenever I can.
