Today, I walked to Charles Warner Pool with friends. Recent rains had made the trail quite muddy in places, though it’s often a bit squelchy anyway, especially along the short stretch to the Pagua River.
The climb up the far bank behind the boulder had eroded significantly since I was last here and the route up top has changed. Now, you’re diverted to the right (ignore the well-beaten track to the left), around the cultivated field. When you reach some rocks in a gulley, look to your left for the track back up to the main trail. Beyond the farmer’s field, the trail is easy to follow. Ignore spurs to the left.
The hour-long walk through the hinterland of the Kalinago Territory was lovely in the afternoon sunshine and the pool itself was as serene and beautiful as ever (the water was very cold!). On the walk back, a pair of jaco parrots passed overhead.
