Last week, I went to visit my friends Kenny and his son O’Brian at Cocoa Valley Eco Farm. I’ve been commissioned to write an article about them for Caribbean Beat magazine.
During the pandemic, Kenny dropped out of working in tourism to learn a skill that would always provide food for his family. Six years later, he’s welcoming independent travellers to his ‘natural farm’. The highlight of my trip is typical of the feedback he’s received. Offbeat, friendly, and extremely educational, Cocoa Valley Eco Farm is well worth the trip if you’re a gardening enthusiast or small-scale/specialist farmer. Do go there if you can (details in my guidebook).
Look out for the Caribbean Beat article in July.
