Hi, my name is Paul Crask. I’m a writer and artist from England, based in Dominica since 2005.
For nearly two decades, I worked as a freelance travel journalist, authored four editions of two Bradt guidebooks, and designed and published a series of independent travel and culture magazines.
In 2024, I stepped away from the travel sector. I now focus on writing as a freelance art and culture journalist while developing my practice as a painter. It marks a new chapter in my work and creative life.
I hold a BA (Hons) in German Language and Literature from the University of Leeds, and also studied in former East Germany at Karl Marx University, Leipzig. I have lived and worked in England, Germany, and Japan.
I live near Giraudel on the western slopes of Morne Anglais with my wife Celia, who is from Dominica. I’m a keen gardener, grow and process my own coffee, and continue to travel whenever I can.
